Habitat improvements are underway on this Northeast Texas property with a focus on creating more complete waterfowl and whitetail hunting opportunities.

The project includes constructing an impoundment for a new Green Tree Reservoir and establishing several hunting holes throughout the timber. These openings are being positioned to give the landowner multiple options based on wind direction, water conditions, and bird movement throughout the season.

Following recent timber harvests, restoration work is also being completed across the property. Prescribed burning will help improve the understory, encourage new growth, and create stronger habitat for deer and other wildlife. New deer hunting locations are also being developed to take advantage of the changing landscape and improve access throughout the property.

Once complete, the combination of managed timber, controlled water, varied hunting setups, prescribed fire, and improved deer habitat will create a more diverse and productive recreational property. This project is on track to become an outstanding destination for hunting and long term wildlife management.
