Mallard Bayou is a premier recreational property in Prairie County, Arkansas, developed with a focus on creating a complete habitat system for waterfowl, whitetail deer, and wild turkey.

The property originally consisted of a large block of timber. During the development process, we worked with the landowner to acquire the bordering agricultural ground, allowing us to expand the vision for the property and create a large planted rest area for waterfowl. This addition provided valuable food, reduced hunting pressure, and gave birds a secure place to hold throughout the season.

A reservoir was constructed to improve water storage and provide greater control across the property. We also built levees around the timber, installed water control systems, and completed the Green Tree Reservoir. Multiple shooting holes were strategically opened throughout the woods to create productive flooded timber hunting opportunities while improving access and water movement.

The development produced strong results for waterfowl hunting, but the benefits extend well beyond duck season. The added food sources, dependable water, improved timber habitat, and reduced disturbance also strengthened the property for whitetail deer and wild turkey.
